Philodendron gigas is a rare and striking climbing hemiepiphyte native to the tropical rainforests of Panama. Coveted by indoor plant collectors, it is celebrated for its huge, velvety, elongated leaves that transform from a coppery-bronze color when young into a deep, velvety, near-black green as they mature. In the wild, its foliage can reach a massive 3 to 4 feet long.
