Anthurium magnificum is a velvety, large-leaf species endemic to Colombia, often creating, or being part of, hybrids with distinct quadrangular, winged petioles. Open-pollinated Anthurium Magnificum seeds arise from insect-driven or natural pollination, often resulting in high genetic diversity compared to controlled crosses. It blooms in a two-phase cycle—female first, then male—where stigmatic fluid appears before pollen, favoring cross-pollination to avoid self-pollination.
